Does anyone else have the dream that you’re getting up and walking to the kitchen (or somewhere) only to realize that it’s a dream and have to start over from square one? I hate that. Or you move your dream-hand and your real hand is stuck where it was. The worst has to be when you’ve locked your door and are laying in bed, and you’re convinced that there are people in the room with you and there’s nobody there. I seriously used to think I saw dead people!

I live in Russia but I’m originally from the US. I edit investment research. I’ve had narcolepsy since college, and I’m currently taking Anafranil. I don’t have access to Provigil because of the way it’s scheduled where I live.

I think that’s a nightmare!

Nothing is worse than dreaming a bad day, only to wake up to start a new day….

TOO TIRING!

Oh my goodness, I totally know exactly what you mean!! I also thought for awhile that I was seeing actual dead people or that I was schizophrenic, lol. And, I would get so frustrated & confused, convinced that I had done certain tasks at work or at home that apparently were just dreams. All my friends, by now, are more than just a little used to me asking “hey, did such & such really happen? Do you remember that? I could have sworn you were there…” lol

How about having the ceiling fan try to eat you? Or spiders attacking you from the ceiling….
I have also had a waterfall coming down my bedroom wall, a floor full of crickets, my dog with a hole in his head sitting on me, and I have woken up screaming more times than I can count!

My pillowcase was full of scorpions and they started coming out around my head and climbing up the drapes behind my headboard……..an intruder broke in the house and came down the hallway towards my bedroom, he stopped in the doorway and smiled at me and I saw he had a knife, he came over to the bed to stab me and when he bent over me his brains had liquefied and spilled out on me….my husband was vomiting all over the bed….those were last week’s HH…can’t wait for next week (not)!

Wow…I’m glad I’m not the only one who experiences such bizarre dreams! I have not yet experienced the bug/scorpion type dreams (though I have seen animals and people on or next to the road when driving…and of course they were not actually there), but my nightmares are so, so very real! I have screamed myself awake several times and swear when I wake up that everything actually happened…just can’t seem to snap out of it! I was once vampire-like…floating from room to room where I ended up in the bathroom staring at myself in the mirror and literally dragging my nails down my face….lovely!

I haven’t had bugs or scorpions, but on several occasions I’ve had a rat or a mouse crawling over my chest. It made me scour every inch of the house for a rat that didn’t really exist.

I have had some pretty kinky things happen to me in my some hallucinations. usually involving demons and such,…. nasty. I am really hoping that it doesnt speak to my character. =/ It was terribly frightening.

But my all time favorite was the time I was so mad at the garden gnomes that I could hear smoking pot in my bathroom. I was royally ticked off at the time at them, but looking back its hilarious. It was more of an auditory hallucination than a visual. I didnt actually see them. but in my mind, I knew they were there.

Turning up the awesome 24/7/365.
One day I will rule the world.

I’m a very visual person. I don’t know if that is because of the Narcolepsy, but it certainly doesn’t help. I often dream about random occurrences in real life.

In my Behavioural Neuroscience midterm this week my prof thought he’d be funny and include some bizarre potential answers for the multiple choice questions. So I’ve had recurring dreams for the past three days of hamsters getting it on in leather chaps, Barry White as mood music and a post-coital cigarette for good measure. The first day of that dream I woke up from my (very public) nap and started to laugh hysterically. Which then put me back to sleep…

Even now I’m trying not to think about it or I’ll start to giggle.
